You are standing at a switch which will redirect the trolley onto track 2, where there is a man tied to the tracks inside a transparent glass box. Track 2 then reconnects to track 1 where it leads to the opaque box. You have heard about many other instances of this scenario, set up by an entity known only as 'the Predictor'. If the Predictor thinks that you will switch the trolley to track two it will leave the opaque box empty, but if it thinks you will leave the switch alone it will put five people on the tracks in the opaque box. ?? The Predictor has never predicted incorrectly. If the Predictor predicts that you will choose randomly it will also put the people into the box. The Predictor has already moved on to set up another test and contents of the opaque box are already in place What do you do? Do you two-box or one-box?
